If your question isn't here, message me — I'd rather answer it before you order than fix a problem afterwards.
How long does it take?
Production takes 2–3 weeks from the moment you approve your artwork. That covers both the machine embroidery and the hand needle-felting, plus quality checking and packing. Then add delivery time to your address in the United States.
Can I rush my order?
Yes — for an extra $40 we move you to the front of the production queue. We only take a few rush orders at a time, because everything is made by hand. Message us before you order and we'll confirm whether a slot is open.
What size is the beanie?
One size, adult. It's a ribbed wool knit with plenty of stretch, so it fits comfortably across normal adult head sizes. If you're unsure, email us your measurement and we'll tell you honestly whether it will work.
How big is the portrait?
Approximately 5–7 cm (2–2.75 in). That's the size that stitches and felts cleanly on a hat or scarf, and stays readable from a normal conversation distance.
Why does the price vary?
Every portrait is priced by how complex the work is, and we confirm the price after we see your photo. A short, single-colour coat is quicker to felt than a long, multi-coloured one. If your photo turns out to be more complex than expected, we'll tell you before we start — you'll never be charged more without approving it first.
Can I include more than one pet?
Yes. A second or third pet can be added for an extra $50 each. Because composition gets harder with more than one animal, message us with the photos first — we'll tell you what's realistic before you pay.
How do I send my pet's photo?
You can upload it on the product page when you order, or place the order first and send the photo afterwards — we'll email you straight away with the details. Either is fine. If you're not sure the photo will work, read our photo guide or send it to us for a free review.
What if I don't like the artwork?
Nothing is made until you approve the design. If you're not happy, we revise it once at no charge. If we still can't agree on a direction, you can cancel before production starts and we'll refund you in full.
Will it look exactly like my pet?
It will be close, and we work hard to make it recognisable — the markings, the expression, the things you'd notice first. But every piece is hand-felted, so small variations in fur texture are natural. That's the signature of handwork, not a defect. If the finished piece is clearly off compared with the artwork you approved, we treat that as our mistake and remake it.
Can you make a portrait of a pet who has passed away?
Yes, and it's some of the most meaningful work we do. If you only have older or lower-quality photos, send them anyway — we'll look at them properly and tell you honestly what's possible before you order. There's no rush on something like this.
What animals can you make?
Dogs and cats are our specialty — any breed, any mix. We can also felt rabbits, hamsters and small birds. We don't make children's items, and we can't reproduce third-party trademarks, sports or team logos, film or game characters, celebrity likenesses, or another artist's work.
What is the beanie made of?
A ribbed wool knit, chosen for softness against the skin and warmth in real cold. The portrait itself is machine-embroidered for structure, then finished with hand needle-felted wool. Full details are on the product page.
How do I care for it?
Hand-wash cool and dry flat. Never machine-wash or tumble-dry a felted piece. Each order arrives with a wool care card that explains this in full.
Do you ship outside the United States?
Not yet. We currently ship to the US only, and we're working on Canada and the UK next. If you're elsewhere and want to be told when your country opens, email us.
How much is shipping?
Free on US orders over $150. Below that, shipping is a flat $15 at checkout.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Send us photos within 14 days of delivery and we'll arrange a remake at our cost. Full details are in our Returns & Remakes policy.
Will you use my pet's photo anywhere else?
No. We use your photo to make your order, and that is all. We never use it in advertising or on social media without your separate, explicit permission. Agreeing to have an order made is not the same as agreeing to be featured.
Can I order now?
We're in our final weeks of development, so ordering opens soon. Production slots are limited because every piece is made by hand — join the waitlist and we'll email you the moment we open, and waitlist members get first access to those slots.
